Dan Brisley

Self-taught and unconventional, Dan Brisley works with found objects, acrylic, and spray paint on canvas. His inspiration comes from the natural and mechanical sources. By using found objects and innovatively applying paint, he recreates our perception of ordinary items. His manipulation of spray paint shatters standard methods of application and produces paradoxical images by a seemingly simple method, yielding complex results. Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, Dan currently lives and works in Austin.
