Erin Minckley Chlaghmo was born in Salt Lake City, Utah but fled at 18 to attend college in southern California where
she received a BA in Art and Middle Eastern Studies. Her art reflects human conditions that are not always positive,
such as greed, racism, and power in a way that is not obtrusive or perverse. As a voyeur looks at his subject, Chlaghmo
stands as an outsider observing American culture. Her experiences immersed in foreign cultures both in America and abroad
influence her objectivity. Erin resides in Austin now but will be attending the School for the Art Institute of Chicago in
