"Joyce Lee's artwork mixes the ephemeral with influences from street art. Working with oils, cut paper, india ink, and charcoal, she creates lush ambient spaces for creatures and tsunamis to play in. Elephants are not what they seem, with long knotted trunks and roots growing from their feet, as if they have stood still for years. Traditionally taught with oil paints since 13, she is breaking through with a distinct style and vision.
Joyce is originally from Houston, TX, and studied studio art and graduated with a degree in Design from the University of Texas at Austin." |
